Quality Management System Auditor/Lead Auditor Training Course as per ISO 9001
A five-day course designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second-and third-party audits of management systems against the requirements of ISO 9001:2015
Auditing a Quality Management System is a crucial element for distinguishing and enhancing improvement possibilities. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training course determines the strategies and benchmarks of ISO 9001 addressing the very recent procedures for internal and external auditing. Support delegates with the significant competence and necessary skills involved to the approach of auditing quality management systems in relation to ISO 9001:2015
Objective
Upon successful completion of the course, attendees will fully understand:
- Summarise the basic principles of auditing practice and will offer you realistic knowledge in planning, performing and reporting the audit, and to assess, the challenges associated with to consolidating the audit programme and the audit
- Demonstrate the procedure for identifying the performance of the company’s management system in obtaining the stated business quality objectives
- Gives you knowledge of the follow-up arrangements that pursue to validate the efficiency of a supplier’s implemented improvements
- Role plays and a variety of activities will support delegates to use their skills in every stage of the audit process, from open meeting to final report. Case study will be used to establish how both customer and supplier objectives can be accomplished and the course wraps up with an examination on the final day.

Pre-requisites
For successful completion of this course, it is expected that you have prior knowledge of the following management principles and concepts:
- The PDCA cycle;
- The relationship between quality management and customer satisfaction;
- HLS requirements;
- Knowledge of the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015. These prior knowledge requirements can be gained by attending our foundation course in ISO 9001/Quality Management Systems.
Audience
This course is for those intending to acquire the competence to audit an organisation’s ISO 9001-based management system, either as third or second party audit. Successful completion of this course is required for certification as an Auditor with IRCA.
Recommended Prior Knowledge
ISO 9001:2015 Foundation (QMS).
What each Learner should know before completing this course
The CQI & IRCA recommend that each Learner have the following prior knowledge before completing this course which would be beneficial, but it is not required in order to register for this course: Quality Management Systems.
- The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
The core elements of a management system and the interrelationship between top management responsibility, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, review and continual improvement.
- Quality Management
The fundamental concepts and the seven quality management principles (see ISO 9000)
The relationship between quality management and customer satisfaction.
Quality Management Terms and Definitions.
The commonly used quality management terms and definitions (see ISO 9000).
Printed Copy of ISO 9001:2015.
Each participant should have a printed copy of the standard to reference while completing this course. Loan copies can only be made available in classroom sessions.
2022 exam changes: From Monday 7th November 2022, The New CQI and IRCA Exam framework will be in effect.
Lead Auditor Exams:
- Exam duration: 1hr 45 minutes
- Total number of items: 40
- Total marks available: 80
Learners must achieve the minimum pass mark for each domain and an overall score of 40 marks (50%).
Open book exam. Learners will require access to the relevant ISO standards (electronic or paper copy permitted)

This course is certified by CQI and IRCA (the Chartered Quality Institute and the International Register of Certificated Auditors)
